Originally from Detroit, Michigan. I was educated at Western Michigan University for 3 years and received my Doctor of Dental Surgery (D.D.S.) from the University of Michigan in 1970.
I practiced in Ann Arbor, Michigan from that time until 1981 at which time my family and I moved to Maryland.
During my time in Ann Arbor, I ran two free clinics and associated with another dentist from 1970 - 1974.
I then practiced privately from 1974 - 1981, when I became disenchanted with the economic fluctuations in Michigan. I had friends in Maryland, so I decided to move to this area in September of 1981. My practice in Clarksburg opened in January of 1982.
My wife Terry and I have two grown childern, Matthew and Iman. We live in Urbana and our children attended Damascus High School. Matthew is a 2002 graduate of Virginia Tech and Iman is a 2003 graduate of Elon University in North Carolina.
My practice is family oriented. I have not used amalgam(silver fillings) in my office since the airing of the "Sixty Minutes" special in November, 1990 when it was demonstrated that mercury vapor is given off when amalgam fillings are subjected to the process of chewing. I
have in the interim become adept at placing direct bonded composite fillings and am very happy with the quality of these restorations.
I also make dentures, partials, crowns and bridges, in addition to preventive dentistry. I am a member of the Greater Washington Implant Study Club and have experience in implant prosthetics and cosmetic bonding.
I give a 15% discount to senior citizens upon request and am very sensitive to people's fears while at the dentist's office. I have a relaxed schedule and work alternate Monday evenings until 9 PM. I accept credit cards and process patient insurance claims.
I genuinely love my work and try hard to make every appointment a pleasant experience. I am a certified Invisalign provider and have had great success with 'invisible braces'. Invisalign Link
